In most acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) cells, promyelocytic leukemia (PML) fuses to retinoic acid receptor α (RARα) due to chromosomal translocation, thus generating PML/RARα oncoprotein, which is a relatively stable oncoprotein for degradation in APL.
