Alemtuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that causes rapid depletion of CD52-expressing immune cells. It has proven to be highly efficacious in active relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis; however, the high risk of secondary autoimmune disorders has greatly complicated its use.
