For efficient enzymatic production of health-beneficial galactooligosaccharides (GOSs), a glycone (-1)/aglycone (+2) subsite mutation strategy to engineer a thermophilic GH1 β-glucosidase (Tn0602) from Thermotoga naphthophila RKU-10 was introduced.
