Significance We investigate microbe–host interaction in the context of neurodegeneration by screening for Escherichia coli genes whose deletion alleviates Parkinson’s disease symptoms in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans overexpressing human α-synuclein (α-syn, A53T).
