Pseudomonas aeruginosa infects patients with cystic fibrosis, burns, wounds and implants. Previously, our group showed that elevated Ca2+ positively regulates the production of several virulence factors in P. aeruginosa, such as biofilm formation, production of pyocyanin and secreted proteases.
