Isoniazid (INH), one of the first-line drugs used for the treatment of tuberculosis, is a prodrug which is activated by the intracellular KatG enzyme of Mycobacterium tuberculosis The activated drug hinders cell wall biosynthesis by inhibiting the InhA protein.
