We aimed to test the hypothesis that apelin (APLN) and its receptor AGTRL1 (APLNR) genes may contribute to the pathogenesis of myocardial infarction in Han Chinese. This is a hospital-based, case-control association study, involving 1067 patients with myocardial infarction and 942 healthy controls.
