Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are treated with immunosuppressive purine analogs, 6-mercaptopurine/6-thioguanine/azathiopurine, which are inactivated by thiopurine S-methyltransferase (TPMT).
