BACKGROUND: Individual differences in the pharmacokinetics (PK) of tacrolimus (TAC), an immunosuppressive drug, are reportedly associated with single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A5 and multidrug resistance protein 1 (MDR1).
