The genome of the acidophilic, bioleaching bacterium Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, strain ATCC 23270, contains 95 predicted tRNA genes. Thirty-six of these genes (all 20 species) are clustered within an actively excising integrative-conjugative element (ICEAfe1).
