INTRODUCTION: Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a pathological phenomenon of cancer that confers tumor cells with increased cell motility, invasive and metastatic abilities with the acquisition of 'cancer stem-like cell' (CSC) phenotype.
