We show that pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), which is secreted from primary or iPSC-derived retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), dramatically inhibits the growth of iPSCs. PEDF is detected abundantly in culture supernatants of primary or iPSC-derived RPE.
