5'-Methylthioadenosine/S-adenosylhomocysteine nucleosidase (MTAN) plays crucial roles in the production of autoinducers and methionine metabolism. Putative genes encoding MTAN and AdoHcyase from Burkholderia thailandensis were cloned and characterized.
