The effect of different amounts of orally ingested ethanol on plasma alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) and erythrocyte aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), as well as on the blood ethanol and acetaldehyde levels, was examined in healthy nonalcoholic subjects.
