Here, we propose a collagen-based three-dimensional (3D) environment for hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HPC) with mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) derived either from bone marrow (BM) or umbilical cord (UC), to recapitulate the main components of the BM niche.
