BACKGROUND: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex endocrine-metabolic disorder. A previous genome-wide association study (GWAS) identified five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) which were independently associated with PCOS in Han Chinese.
