In this research, the gas-phase stabilities of matched and mismatched duplex DNA were investigated by electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The wild-type p53 duplex DNA [ds1, perfectly-matched (PM) DNA] was successfully distinguished from its three mutated DNAs [double-base mismatched DNA (DM)].
