BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Susceptibility to antitubercular drug (ATD)-induced hepatotoxicity may be genetically mediated, with variant alleles of genes such as N-acetyltransferase (NAT2) and CYP2E1 reported as risk factors.
