BACKGROUND & AIMS: The mature pancreatic acinar cell is dedicated to the production of very large amounts of digestive enzymes. The early stages of pancreatic development require the Rbpj form of the trimeric Pancreas Transcription Factor 1 complex (PTF1-J).
