The DNA duplex 5'-d(GCCACAAGCTC).d(GAGCTGGTGGC), which contains a central G.A mismatch has been studied by one and two-dimensional NMR techniques. The duplex corresponds to the sequence 29-39 of the K-ras gene. The mismatch position is that of the first base of the Gly12 codon, a hot spot for mutations.
