OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to investigate if single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in a series of inflammatory genes were associated with the development of the most common pathologies thought to precede gastric cancer development namely; Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)-associated gastritis and intestinal metaplasia.
