Studies in antipsychotic-naïve patients with schizophrenia indicate a baseline level of spontaneous involuntary movements, particularly orofacial dyskinesia. Neuregulin-1 is associated with risk for schizophrenia and its functional role can be studied in 'knockout' mice.
