The opportunistic pathogen Haemophilus parainfluenzae is a gram-negative bacterium found in the oropharynx of humans. Haemophilus parainfluenzae is a member of the Pasteurellaceae family in which it is most closely related to Haemophilus sengis and Actinobacillus.
