Overexpression of a caspase-resistant form of Bcl-2 (D34A) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (ECs) implanted into immunodeficient mice promotes the maturation of human EC-lined microvessels invested by vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) of mouse origin.
