Biosynthesis of TRH, a neuropeptide involved in energy homeostasis, is modulated by glucocorticoids. TRH mRNA and peptide levels are increased upon incubation of hypothalamic cells with dexamethasone or with cAMP analogs but when combined, a mutual antagonism is observed.
