OBJECTIVES: Inhibitor of differentiation 3 (Id3)-deficient mice show sicca symptoms, lymphocyte infiltration of exocrine glands and positive anti-Ro/SSA and anti-La/SSB antibodies, all hallmarks of primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS).
