INTRODUCTION: The immunosuppressive agent mycophenolic acid (MPA) is metabolized by uridine diphosphate glucuronosyltransferase 1A9 (UGT1A9) to 7-O-glucuronide (MPAG) and excreted by multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 in the bile.
