The antibiotic drug novobiocin was evaluated for its anti-tumour properties in B16 melanoma cells. Novobiocin is shown to inhibit melanoma B16 cell proliferation. The anti-proliferative effect was gradually reversible upon removal of novobiocin from the culture medium.
