Gonadotrophin resistance is caused by inactivating mutations in receptors (Rs) of the two gonadotrophins, i.e. luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), presenting as hypergonadotrophic hypogonadism and infertility/subfertility in both sexes.
