Growth hormone (GH) regulates anabolic metabolism via activation of the STAT5b transcription factor and reduces mucosal inflammation in colitis. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) gamma suppresses mucosal inflammation and is regulated by GH through STAT5b.
