Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P), two small lysophospholipids, are potent inducers of many of the hallmarks of cancer including cell proliferation, survival, migration, invasion, and neovascularization in in vitro and in vivo tumor models.
