Certain enzymes normally associated with peroxisomes, such as the dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) acyltransferase involved in plasmalogen biosynthesis, are present at low levels in peroxisome-deficient mutants of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells.
