Several previous studies have identified biochemical markers for Alzheimer's disease (AD): cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)-beta-amyloid peptide42 (CSF-Abeta42), CSF-total tau protein (CSF-tau) and CSF-phosphorylated tau protein (CSF-ptau).
