ADAMTS metalloproteases constitute a family of 19 secreted protein or proteoglycan processing enzymes. ADAMTS9 and its closest mammalian relative, ADAMTS20, are related to gon-1, a metalloprotease required for gonadal morphogenesis in Caenorhabditis elegans.
