Mammalian telomeres consist of long tandem arrays of double-stranded telomeric TTAGGG repeats packaged by the telomeric DNA-binding proteins TRF1 and TRF2. Both contain a similar C-terminal Myb domain that mediates sequence-specific binding to telomeric DNA.
