1. We established a new animal model of metabolic syndrome, SHRSP fatty (fa/fa) rats, by crossing stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats of the Izumo strain (SHRSP/Izm) to Zucker fatty (ZF) (fa/fa) rats. 2.
