Transgenic (Tg) mouse models overexpressing amyloid precursor protein (APP) develop senile plaques similar to those found in Alzheimer's disease in an age-dependent manner. Recent reports demonstrated that immunotherapy is effective at preventing or removing amyloid-beta deposits in the mouse models.
