Hypohydrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia (HED) is a genetic disease seen in humans and mice. It is characterized by loss of hair, sweat glands, and teeth. The predominant X-linked form results from mutations in ectodysplasin-A (EDA), a TNF-like ligand.
