We have previously implicated TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) in innate immune surveillance against tumor development. In this study, we describe the use of TRAIL gene-targeted mice to demonstrate the key role of TRAIL in suppressing tumor initiation and metastasis.
