OBJECTIVE: The cholecystokinin(2)-receptor (CCK(2)R) promotes secretion and cell growth induced by its ligands cholecystokinin (CCK) and gastrin. The receptor has recently been shown to be expressed in human medullary thyroid carcinomas (MTCs).
