Human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are capable of differentiating into multiple mesenchymal lineages including chondrocytes, osteocytes, adipocytes, and marrow stromal cells. Using a nonhuman primate model, we evaluated nonhuman primate MSCs as targets for gene therapy.
