Pseudovitamin D-deficiency rickets is caused by mutations in the cytochrome P450 enzyme, 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3)-1alpha-hydroxylase (1alpha-OHase). Patients with the disease exhibit growth retardation, rickets, and osteomalacia.
