Field isolates of Plasmodium falciparum collected from endemic areas of Southeast Asia, Solomon Islands, tropical African countries and Brazil were analyzed for the genetic diversity of the exon II of serine repeat antigen gene (SERA) by sequencing of genomic DNA.
