The Drosophila dicistronic stoned locus encodes two distinctive presynaptic proteins, Stoned A (STNA) and Stoned B (STNB); STNA is a novel protein without homology to known synaptic proteins, and STNB contains a domain with homology to the endocytotic protein AP50.
