In this study we investigated the distribution of apolipoprotein E (APO E) genotypes in sporadic multiple sclerosis (MS) cases and in normal controls. Later onset of chronic progressive MS was observed in patients carrying the epsilon2 allele, whereas APO E alleles were found at similar frequency in MS and in the control population.
