The mod(mdg4)1u1 mutation modifies the phenotypic expression of mutations induced by the MDG4 insertion. The Suppressor of modifier mdg4 (Su(mg)) gene family was described earlier. Most Su(mg) mutations completely suppressed the negative effect of the mod(mdg4)1u1 mutation on transcription of the yellow gene.
