Polyphosphate (polyP) is a ubiquitous biopolymer whose function and metabolism are incompletely understood. The polyphosphate kinase (PPK) of Acinetobacter sp. strain ADP1, an organism that accumulates large amounts of polyP, was purified to homogeneity and characterized.
