Investigate mutation of ras gene family in various stage of gastric cancer in China. PCR-RFLP, PCR-SSCP and PCR-DNA sequencing were used to detect mutation rates of H-ras, K-ras and N-ras gene. Mutation rates of H-ras at 12 codon in metaplasia, atypical hyperplasia, and progressive gastric cancer is 16.7% (6/36), 31.2% (15/48), 34.7% (25/72), respectively.
