Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) helps transfer lipids from lipoprotein particles to cells. In the brain, LPL is present in Alzheimer's disease (AD) amyloid plaques. LPL binds apolipoprotein E (ApoE) lipoprotein particles and low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (LRP), an ApoE receptor.
