Mutations in the Gli3 gene are associated with a preaxial polydactyly in several mouse mutants such as extra-toes (Xt). The semidominant mouse mutant Pdn (Polydactyly Nagoya) is characterized by a mild polydactyly on the anterior side of the hind limbs.
